THE SUN RIPPED THE DYING STORM

Acrylic on wood panel - 5x7" - (C)BruceDocker,2009
$100.00

This is my original and only drawing for this painting, other than what I drew in the wood panel. The idea is a combination of my backyard series and a separate view I saw elsewhere of the sun shining between clouds after a storm. The drawing is about 2.5 x 4". When I got the idea I quickly drew it on the only piece of paper that was available, so I would not forget it.

I love the way your paintings use color and the way your positive and negative shapes provide a sense of character and depth. This is one of my favorites. The way you used the light as if it was the sun pouring out light like rain and casting a shadow on the trees is beautiful.

Thanks Anon.

I appreciate you wandering through.

Hi Bruce just discovered your brilliant work, love the way your titles really add another dimension. Love the poetry, humour and melodrama of the scenes. The stylized execution I think adds hugely to the effect, leaves room for the viewer to make it personal.

Thanks for your generous observations Simon. I hope most people see those things, but I'm not always sure people see the humor. That is often an important part of my work.

I think I concur with my previous self.
