This is panel one of a diptych. My idea here is to simplify as much as possible like a view from a pinhole camera, but with color.

VALLEY OF THE MOON (TRIPTYCH)

Here is the finished piece. I had a very specific idea of the way I wanted to display this triptych of paintings, so I framed it myself. The frame and back panel match each other and the paintings themselves are floating on 1/4" panels -as shown below- giving the set a sculptural look.

As I believe they should, each panel works on it's own as a stand alone composition. In this case each panel also focuses on a different depth within the overall scene.

This is a scene from Joshua Tree National Park.
The painting sold to a collector in Washington D.C. this week.
